Xbox Game Pass January 2021

What Platforms Is Xbox Game Pass Available On

Xbox Game Pass January 2021 Games Suggestions and Additions

Xbox Game Pass for Console lets you download and play games on all versions of Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. Then there’s Xbox Game Pass for PC, which gives Windows 10 users access to tons of games, including some that are exclusive to PC like Crusader Kings 3.

Finally, the Xbox Game Pass app for Android has incorporated Microsoft’s Project xCloud subscription service. This lets Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members play over 100 games on their phones via the cloud. All of these titles are pulled from Game Pass for Console or PC, and games like Minecraft Dungeons and Tell Me Why even features touchscreen controls tailored exclusively for mobile. Xbox will bring the service to iOS and smart TVs, but as of January 2021, xCloud is only on Android.

The biggest thing to consider here is that you don’t need an Xbox console to use Xbox Game Pass when you can use PC or Android.

Three Games Coming To Xbox Game Pass In January 2022

Microsoft hasnt officially posted its list of upcoming Xbox Game Pass titles for January 2022, but looking ahead to some upcoming releases, we already know of three games set to come to service next month.

The first is The Anacrusis, a four-player cooperative first-person shooter in which youre aboard a massive starship stranded at the edge of space. On the surface, The Anacrusis isnt terribly impressive graphically or gameplay wise. Its essentially a horde mode where you fight off waves of never-ending aliens.

But its whats going on under the hood that makes The Anacrusis so compelling. The game aims to provide infinite replayability and it does so with its AI Driver. The Driver controls every aspect of the game enemy spawns, boss control, weapon and gadget spawns, etc. The goal with this is not just to change things up every time you play, but to deliver the perfect difficulty for your party. It also knows how much of the story each player has experience so it knows how much of the story the secrets of the alien attack, relationships between the characters, etc. to reveal as you play.

January is actually filled with some impressive co-op shooters, including Tom Clancys Rainbow Six Extraction, so it will be interesting to see how The Anacrusis fairs when it releases on January 13, 2022.

Thats all we know right now thats coming to Xbox Game Pass in January 2022, but well be sure to let you know if any additional titles make their way to the service.

Due to COVID-19 and a desire to focus on experiences for next-gen consoles, Konami opted to release a “Season Update” in September rather than a new entry in its soccer simulation series. While it seems this will be a one-time thing, this probably a better approach for sports games in general. eFootball PES 2021 is essentially eFootball PES 2020 with updates to the roster, but the game offers fluid gameplay, online co-op and real-life events that make it one of the best soccer games available.

    Initial Unveiling And Launch

Industry rumors of new Xbox hardware had started as early as June 2018, with Microsoft’s Phil Spencer confirming they were “deep into architecturing the next Xbox consoles” at that time. The hardware was believed to be a family of devices under the codename “Scarlett,” including a low-cost version following a similar scheme as the Xbox One family of consoles, with major emphasis on game streaming and backward compatibility. By March 2019, further industry rumors had led to speculation of two consoles within the Scarlett family under codenames “Anaconda” and the low-cost “Lockhart” version.

Microsoft confirmed Project Scarlett at its E3 2019 press conference. Microsoft said they wanted a “soft” transition from Xbox One to Scarlett, with Scarlett supporting backward compatibility with all games and most hardware supported on the Xbox One. During a presentation at The Game Awards 2019, Microsoft officially revealed the design of Scarlett and its branding, “Xbox Series X,” as well as a late 2020 release date. Following the event, a Microsoft spokesperson stated that Xbox Series X constituted an entry in a fourth generation of Xbox hardware, which will be branded simply as “Xbox” with no subtitle.

On July 16, 2020, Microsoft announced that it had ended production of the Xbox One X and all-digital version of the Xbox One S in preparation for the new products.
