When Are More Xbox Series X Available

Microsoft Has Confirmed Backwards Compatibility For The Xbox Series X

Warframe On Xbox Series X|S – Available Now!

Jason Ronald, director of program management for Xbox Series X, has confirmed on a Xbox Wire blog post that thousands of backwards compatible games will be available on the console at launch.

With more than 100,000 hours of play testing already completed, thousands of games are already playable on Xbox Series X today, from the biggest blockbusters to cult classics and fan favourites, Ronald said.

Many of us in Team Xbox play on the Xbox Series X daily as our primary console and switching between generations is seamless. By the time we launch this holiday, the team will have spent well over 200,000 hours ensuring your game library is ready for you to jump in immediately.

Ronald added that older games will run the peak performance that they were originally designed for, many times even higher performance than the games saw on their original launch platform. This will result in higher and more steady frame rates and rendering at their maximum resolution and visual quality.

In the post, Roland also the consoles Quick Resume feature, which allows players to start a game exactly where they left off previously, will be available for older titles too. The new Quick Resume feature was designed to not only work with new games, but it can also be enabled for backward-compatible titles, he said.

Faster Storage Delivers Much Shorter Load Times

All games and saves on an Xbox Series X or Series S are stored on a much newer and much faster type of storagecalled NVMethan the platter-based hard drive the Xbox One uses. This new storage helps provide some of the most obvious improvements to the overall user experience and games for this new console generation, with a night-and-day difference in console startup, game boot-ups, and in-game load times.

Xbox Series X Restocks: Our Top Tips

We’ve been tracking Xbox Series X restocks for a while now, which means we’ve picked up some tricks along the way. You’ll find our top tips for making the most of each stock drop just below.

1. Sign in and save your detailsThis is the one that catches the most people out. Create an account with each retailer and sign in ahead of time, adding your payment and shipping information. Seconds count when the clock is ticking, and that clock is never faster than when there’s a console sitting in your cart. Avoid spending too long at checkout to make sure you don’t have your goods sniped away at the last moment.

2. Stay in touch with retailers and trackersRetailers and trackers will let you know about upcoming Xbox Series X restock opportunities on social media. This is the fastest way to land on the right website at the right time, so be sure to stay active and keep checking back over time.

3. Keep refreshingIf you do catch a live one, you’ll need to fight to reel it in. Keep refreshing the page if you initially land on an out of stock message, open up multiple tabs if the website is crashing, and keep forcing your way through to checkout. It can be a gruelling process, but it’s often a successful one.

4. Don’t give upDon’t take the desperate move of paying over MSRP via a reseller. Xbox Series X restocks are still far too regular to warrant buying a console from a scalper, and the internet is filled with untrustworthy sources – it’s just not worth it.

There’s a good reason Microsoft’s new consoles are flying off shelves. In our Xbox Series X review, we gave the new system major props for its blistering performance, zippy load times and comprehensive backwards compatibility with every generation of Xbox. And as we noted in our Xbox Series S review, the cheaper next-gen Xbox still delivers many of the same great features for those with 1080p TVs.

Is Xbox One Dead

No. Its true that the Xbox one sold poorly compared to Sonys PlayStation 4, but in many ways the Xbox series X marks a shift in how Microsoft views the traditional console cycle. Rather than thinking in generations and hardware, the company is now focusing on providing ongoing access to games as a subscription service, similar to how Netflix or Spotify operates.

Game Pass is Microsofts on-demand games platform, giving players access to over 100 full games for a monthly fee. Microsoft is investing heavily in its subscription offering, snapping up large games publishers like Bethesda in a bid to bolster its library of titles and lure players away from Sonys rival PlayStation Now service.

Even the very latest games on Game Pass are designed to be compatible with previous consoles as well as next-generation ones, so that over time, owning the newest hardware becomes less important for the majority of players. Older generations of Xbox are expected to dodge the landfill for a while yet.

Where To Buy Xbox Series X: All The Retailers To Check For The Console

ByJames Pickardlast updated 22 December 21

Want to know where to buy Xbox Series X? Here are all the places you should be looking

Even though the Xbox Series X stock situation has improved greatly a year from launch, consoles are still not readily available in stores at a moment’s notice. The good news, though, is that Microsoft’s latest Xbox isn’t selling out in a matter of seconds so your chances of getting one when there is a restock are much higher. To get you in the best position possible, we’re here to ensure you’re kept up to date with where to buy the Xbox Series X.

Latest: Those in the UK can currently find the Xbox Series X in stock at Game and Currys. While that’s a sign the situation continues to improve, Xbox Series X stock is still difficult to track down. More consoles have been popping up in a few stores in both the US and the UK – yet they still sell out within minutes. There’s was a surprise Xbox Series X restock at Amazon UK on December 20. As soon as we hear of any news on future restocks for the Xbox Series X console we’ll be back to update this page.

Why Is The Xbox Tough To Find

Essentially, Microsoft hasn’t been able to get the materials it needs to make enough Xbox consoles to meet demand. As with the PlayStation 5 and most PC video cards, there’s a chip shortage right now that is slowing supply. The pandemic affected production for a lot of chip manufacturers, and industry watchers currently don’t expect the issue to be entirely resolved for months to come.

As a result, Microsoft makes as many consoles as it can and distributes them among its retail partners. Each retailer releases its available consoles in whatever way it deems appropriate. Most of the time, this means announcing ahead of time when you’ll be able to buy the console online and then releasing it for anyone to buy.

Check out this full breakdown on the chip shortage by CNET’s Stephen Shankland for more details.

This is only applicable for the special edition Xbox that is priced at $549.99. This is a bit high because the bundle includes a copy of Halo Infinite and a special design controller also.
    • Walmart Xbox Series X Restock: The makers try and bring in weekly restocks at 3 p.m. ET. Since no consoles were released last week, there is a high possibility that Walmart will be releasing new units on Thursday, September 10. No official statement has been released about these restocks.
    • Microsoft Store Xbox Series X Restock: A new batch of products was also released by the makers last week. Because of the high demand, it is easy to assume that the consoles are still unavailable on their platform.

We’re keeping track of Xbox Series X and Series S restocks at major retailers.

Though the Xbox Series X isn’t readily available at all major retailers, we’re starting to see stock remain available for hours or even days in some cases. For instance, the Xbox Series X is still in stock at Walmart at the time of writing, nearly three after the restock went live–and you don’t even have to be a Walmart+ member to buy it. Meanwhile, GameStop will have bundles available in stores for PowerUp Rewards Pro members tomorrow, March 18. Xbox Series S Price: Cheaper Digital Edition

Rumours circled for months that Microsoft was working on a cheaper Xbox to launch alongside the Series X. Sure enough, the Xbox Series S is a digital-only version of its next-gen console in order to lower the barrier to entry.

It costs £249.99 . That’s just over half the price of the full-fat Xbox Series X and could be a very tempting price for UK gamers.

Gamers in 12 countries, including the US, UK and Australia, also have the option to buy the Series S and pay in instalments. Microsoft’s Xbox All Access service gets you Series S console plus Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold in return for £20.99 per month over a 24 month period.

The main difference between the Xbox Series X and Series S is that the latter doesn’t have a disc drive. Another big difference is that while both consoles support high frame rates of up to 120fps, the Xbox Series X offers native 4K gaming, while the Series S is geared more towards 1440p. If you want to make the most of your 4K TV, the Series X would be the obvious choice, but those with gaming monitors might be perfectly well served by the Series S.

The Series S isn’t as powerful, though. Both consoles have the same Zen 2-based CPU but the Xbox Series X runs at 3.8Hz, while the Series S runs at 3.4Hz. And where the Xbox Series S has 10GB of GDDR6 memory running at 224Gbps, the Series X offers 16GB of GDDR6.

Xbox Series X Or Xbox Series S

Before you buy the first Xbox that becomes available, you should know that Microsofts two new consoles have some significant differences. The $499 Xbox Series X is the flagship powerhouse of the family, designed to deliver immersive 4K gaming complete with a Blu-ray disc player and 1TB of internal storage for housing your digital downloads. If you have a 4K TV and want to experience the highest performance available on a console, you should spring for the Series X.

The $299 Xbox Series S is the streamlined, entry-level machine, able to play games at up to 1440p resolution and has roughly half the internal storage at 512GB. The Series S lacks a disc drive, so youre limited to digital downloads only. Its also significantly smaller than the chunky Xbox Series X, if space is a concern. If youre still using a 1080p TV but want to enjoy many of the perks of next-gen gaming, this is the system for you.

Fortunately, these systems have a lot of key features in common. Both use a solid state drive , which allows games to load up within seconds. The Series X and Series S both feature Quick Resume, which lets you bounce between a handful of games at once without losing your progress in any of them. And theyre both capable of running games at up to 120 frames per second for super-smooth gameplay, complete with ray tracing technology that allows for ultra-realistic lighting and shadows.
