What Is Better Xbox Or Ps5

Storage And File Transfer

PS5 vs Xbox Series X: Which Does What Best?

The Series X has just a little over 800GB of free space, while the PS5 only gets around 667GB. Thats enough for maybe one or two extra games . Also, the Series X right now does support storage upgrades, via Microsofts proprietary Storage Expansion Card. PS5 still has no compatible storage upgrade options. The PS5 will eventually receive upgrades, but its approach is messier than Microsofts. Microsofts card is hot swappable and can be easily plugged in, while the PS5 requires the user to screw in an internal drive under the hood of the console. This will mean users can easily swap their storage drives across multiple Xbox Series consoles while the PS5s drive is locked down and not easily removable.

While both consoles support USB 3 external drives for backwards compatible games, the Xbox does it better. The Xbox Series X can cold store next-gen games on the external drive, so they dont have to be re-downloaded. The PS5 still doesnt have this feature despite Sony saying it will eventually arrive. Also, PS4 games on PS5 can only be transferred you cannot store the game on both the internal and external at the same time, which can be frustrating if you plan on copying the game to another PS5 system. Series X supports copying just like a PC. It also supports multiple external drives connected at the same time, while the PS5 can only connect one at a time. External drives with a USB hub built-in are supported on Series X, but not on PS5.

Ps5 Digital Vs Xbox Series S Price

If youre considering buying either the PS5 Digital or the Xbox Series S, you likely want to save some money. The cheapest option between the two is the Xbox Series S, priced at $299.99.

If you want an even more savvy purchase option, Microsoft is offering the Xbox All Access plan. With it, you can purchase a new Xbox Series S console and get an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for 24 monthly payments of $24.99 plus tax. If you want to upgrade to the Xbox Series X, Microsoft offers a similar Xbox All Access plan for 24 monthly payments of $34.99 plus tax.

The PS5 Digital is a bit more expensive, priced at $399.99, but you get a lot more bang for your buck in terms of specs. It has the same powerful internals as its more expensive peer, minus the disc drive. However, Sony does not currently have any monthly payment plans or bundles that decrease the console price.

Same Price Better Hardware

The Xbox Series X is expected to be slightly more expensive then the PS5 to manufacture, but the Xbox is the same retail price as the standard PS5 disc model it is competing with. Both come in at 499 USD. In some regions such as Canada, the Series X is slightly cheaper then the PS5. The Series X also comes with around 200GB more storage then PS5. At the end of the day the manufacturing cost means nothing compared to the overall experience, but both consoles are offering similar experiences.

Scarlett Anaconda Lockhart Oh My

Codenames have been flying around recently surrounding the next generation of Xbox consoles. It all started with Phil Spencer confirming that Microsoft is working on next-generation hardware at E3 2018.

From here, rumors began to surface about Project Scarlett, which is supposed to be the current name of their next-gen offering. Things got really interesting in mid-December of 2018 when Windows Central reported that Microsoft is releasing not one, but two consoles in 2020 to kick off the new generation.

Both fall under the Project Scarlett moniker, but they have names of their own. Anaconda is supposed to be the successor to the Xbox One X. It’s allegedly going to be a beast of a machine that will push the envelope for gaming hardware by offering 4K resolution and frame rates upwards of 240 FPS.

There aren’t any specs to speak of just yet. In addition to Anaconda, there is also Lockhart, which is rumored to be the next Xbox One S. It won’t be as powerful as Anaconda, but it will be more affordable as a result. This suggests a similar situation to what we have this generation with the S and the X.

Microsoft has been lagging behind Sony this generation. How can they come back from the brink with these new consoles? It’s time we discussed the elephant in the room.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Games

PS5 vs Xbox Series X

The PS5 and Xbox Series X have fundamentally different approaches to game libraries. The Xbox Series X assumes youll pick up the same games you left off on the Xbox One, and will want optimized performance across the board for all favorites. The PS5, on the other hand, has a bevy of exclusive titles that launched alongside its new console although most of them are also available on the PS4, to be fair.

At present, its hard to deny that the PS5 has the more exciting game selection. Just in terms of first-party titles, the PS5 launched with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demons Souls, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and the surprisingly delightful Astros Playroom.

Compare and contrast with the Xbox Series X, which didnt have any exclusive titles at launch. Instead, Microsoft released a list of 30 optimized for Xbox Series X/S titles, including fan favorites like Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Forza Horizon 4. While the Xbox Series X optimizations are indeed impressive, not all of these games are brand new, and theyre all available on Xbox One, PC or both.

Because of its superior game selection , one staffer chose the PS5 over Xbox Series X. But Microsoft’s stable of titles should improve as time goes on.

Of course, both systems will also have some interesting games coming down the line. But restricting ourselves to what we can play and review right now, the PS5 has the stronger lineup.

Ps5 Release Date When Is It Out

Here’s what you need to know about the PlayStation 5 launch…

In a blog post, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan said: “Since we originally unveiled our next-generation console in April, we know that theres been a lot of excitement and interest in hearing more about what the future of games will bring.

“Today Im proud to share that our next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5, and well be launching in time for Holiday 2020.”

That’s not a specific date, but it’s effectively a promise that you’ll be able to buy it in the run-up to Christmas 2020.

In reality, that probably means the new console going on sale in October or November.

That’s a great time for a new console to come out, as those months are when blockbuster releases like new Call of Duty games typically happen.

So what’s the likeliest date? Well the PS4 launched on November 15, 2013 a Friday.

And the PS4 Pro launched on November 10, 2016 a Thursday.

Based on those launches, we predict either a November 12 or 13 PS5 release date in 2020.

We spoke to gadget expert Paolo Pescatore, who said the console will have a premium price, thanks to the slick new design and high performance.

“Expect a price point somewhere between £400-500 for both models,” said savvy analyst Paolo, of PP Foresight, speaking to The Sun.

“Obviously the digital only version should be cheaper .

He added: “Watch out for some introductory bundles at launch.”

“Microsoft is going to wait for Sony to blink first.”

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Size

We know lifes not all about size but when it comes to PS5 vs Xbox Series X, it totally is, and while neither console is particularly diminutive, the PS5 is an absolute monster. Sonys new-gen behemoth sits at a TV stand-busting 39cm in height, 26cm deep, and 10.4cm wide. The saving grace here is that the PS5 is as happy lying down as it is looking like part of a modern skyline on its stand so you shouldnt need to buy new furniture.

And dont think that buying the PS5 Digital Edition will help much. The only difference is a cm in the width of the console. There is a bit of a weight difference between the two flavors. The regular PS5 weighs in at 4.5kg, while the disc drive-free version is a significantly lighter 3.9kg.

In comparison, the Xbox Series X is positively Lilliputian. Microsofts console measures in at 30.1cm in height and is a pleasing 15.1cm depth and width. This makes it a satisfying little monolith to have towering next to your television and, like the PS5, it can be used in both a vertical and horizontal position so you can hide it away in your stand. Weight-wise, the Xbox Series X comes in slightly under the competition at 4.4kg but were not advising you do squats with either.

Is Ps5 More Powerful Than Xbox Series X Or Vice

Which Console is Better NOW? PS5 VS Xbox Series X

The PS5 CPU is a custom third-generation Ryzen chip . As for the PS5 GPU, it’s a heavily customized variant of AMD’s Radeon Navi, which can simulate 3D audio and support ray-tracing. More specifically, it offers 10.28 teraFLOPs and 36 CUs at 2.23GHz. That’s paired with 16GB GDDR6 RAM. In terms of storage, the PS5 packs a custom 825GB SSD running at 5.5GB per second.

In terms of extra storage, while Sony revealed that we would be able to plug in additional SSD support via PCIe 4.0 to expand space for games, it hasnt activated that feature just yet. Given the price of this speed of SSD, its not going to be a cheap endeavor when it is actively turned on but if youre running low on space, you can use regular USB drives to store your games. As announced in a Sony blog post, you just wont be able to run them from the drive and have to transfer to the PS5 before playing.

Now onto the Xbox Series X specs. Like Sony, Microsoft worked with AMD to co-engineer a custom system-on-chip platform . It also has an eight-core Zen 2 system, but the Xbox Series X version clocks in at 3.8GHz. Meanwhile, the GPU can handle 12 teraFLOPs with 52 CUs at 1.825GHz. This allows Xbox Series X to support hardware-accelerated real-time ray-tracing, leading to gorgeous visuals. Finally, the console has 16GB GDDR6 RAM with a hefty 1TB SSD running at 2.4GB per second. If you want more, it can be supported with the official Xbox Series X Storage Expansion Card that offers an extra 1TB of space.

Warzone: Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X Differences Explained

If youre one of the few gamers who owns both a PS5 and Xbox Series X, you can now make an informed choice about which console to play Warzone on. Now that you can play Warzone on PS5 at 120 FPS, the console is finally catching up to Xbox.

After all, Xbox Series X players have been able to enjoy 120 FPS Warzone from Day One. But thats not the only factor that sets apart the two consoles.

Now that PlayStation and Xbox users are on even footing, which console plays Warzone the best? Digital Foundry has a deep dive to discover the truth in its latest upload.

In the side-by-side comparison, Digital Foundry has both PS5 and Xbox Series X Warzone gameplay, with the titles high-resolution texture packs installed.

Why You Should Buy The Ps5 Or Xbox Series X

The problem with arguing for a dedicated gaming machine in the console vs PC debate is that a PC does far more than just play games. For example, you cant build and run an entire home business from it or research and study for a university essay.

This throws any potential argument about cost-effectiveness out of the window. Even if it was cheaper in the long run to buy a new console every five or so years which isnt the case if youre a savvy shopper a PC is a far more versatile machine than a games console.

Nevertheless, consoles do have some advantages over PC. Lets start with the obvious one the games.

Incredible initiatives like Game Pass and Play Anywhere mean that all of the genuinely great exclusive Xbox One games can be played on a Windows machine. Likewise, Sony has committed to bringing more fun to PC. Weve already seen this with Horizon Zero Dawn and the otherwise PS4-exclusive Death Stranding.

However, there are plenty of fantastic console games you just cant play on PC. From just the current console generation, a PC-exclusive player would miss out on incredible PlayStation 4 games like The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part 2, Bloodborne, God of War, Persona 5, Uncharted 4, Shadow of the Colossus, Marvels Spider-Man, The Last Guardian, and many more.

Ps5 Dualsense Controller Vs Xbox Series X Controller: Which Gamepad Is Better

DualSense versus the Xbox Wireless Controller

The battle between the PS5 and Xbox Series X is now well underway and while things like exclusive games, high value services and console specs get a lot of attention when it comes to helping you decide which console to pick, it’s important not to underestimate the significance of the controller that comes with each of the consoles.

A controller can have a significant effect on your experience of playing a game so it’s worth paying attention to whether or not the console you’re buying has one that suits you.

Interestingly, both Microsoft and Sony have tackled the controller problem a little differently with their next-gen consoles. While Microsoft has opted for a refinement of its existing design, Sony has gone a little further by dropping the DualShock name, as well as introducing new and exciting immersive features, like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

The Ps5’s Dualsense Controller Features

Every PS5 player has mentioned this, and for good reason. The console’s fascinating DualSense controller is a game-changer, quite literally. On Xbox Series X, players have the typical experience of gunning down an enemy in a Call of Duty title. Simply aim at a foe and fire away it’s the same admittedly satisfying experience it’s always been.

For those playing on the PS5 with its DualSense controller, the experience will be radically different. Every gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War places a different resistance on the trigger. Shotguns feel punchy, submachine guns rattle the trigger back and forth and the M60’s heavy thump isn’t just audible, it can be felt.

Ps5 Digital Vs Xbox Series S Design

The design of the PS5 digital and the design of the Xbox Series S could not be more different. Theyre both primarily white with black accents, but thats pretty much the only similarity.

The PS5 digital is slightly slimmer than the standard PS5 due to the lack of a disc drive. It has a more symmetrical design, with the black console sandwiched between two sleek white panels. You can choose to place the PS5 Digital either horizontally or vertically. Although the PS5 and PS5 Digital design has been quite controversial among fans, I quite like the more modern, sleek form factor.

That said, it is every bit as tall as the standard PS5. Ensure it will fit in your entertainment center before buying, or it may end up sitting on the floor.

The Xbox Series S also has a minimalist appearance, but its more subtle due to its size. It has the same simple color scheme as the PS5 Digital, with a single large black vent on the side. This makes it look almost like a home speaker when stood vertically.

The Xbox Series S is the smallest console Microsoft has ever made. Its about 60% smaller than its towering counterpart, the Xbox Series X. You can see a size comparison with the Xbox One X above, and the difference is even more striking when compared to the Xbox Series X or PS5.
