Xbox Series X Final Thoughts
The Xbox Series X is an unconventional next-generation console. It’s arriving with thousands of playable games from day one, each of which appears to play better than they ever have on console, but the broad appeal of that offering will likely depend on where your allegiances have been for the last generation.
If you’re returning home to Xbox after seven years with the PS4, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, and Sea of Thieves might be older titles, but with their optimisation for Xbox Series X, they look and feel as if they could have released yesterday. Similarly, other exclusives that are yet to receive optimisation patches Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Halo 5: Guardians, for example play wonderfully, as do games like Quantum Break and Rare Replay that were initially optimised for One X and are receiving huge free gains on the new hardware. If you’re new into Xbox, there’s plenty here for you to play.

Nintendo Switch Oled Restock Tracker: Amazon Walmart And Target Have Stock Right Now
If you want a Nintendo Switch OLED you have a chance to order one today.
If you’ve been trying to score a Nintendo Switch OLED before Christmas, you have one more chance. Unfortunately, the console won’t arrive in time, but you’ll be able to know that you’ve got your order in and that it’s on the way. Target, Amazon and Walmart have both versions of the console in stock right now, but who knows how long it will last. Some Walmart locations may have inventory for same-day pickup, so be sure to check your local stores.
Like its next-gen peers the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, the new and improved Nintendo Switch OLED has proven pretty difficult to track down in the months since its release. Sure, these nifty handhelds are a hot item this season, but the larger issue is the ongoing global chip shortage that has seriously hampered production, according to Nintendo, with few signs of that changing any time soon. There have been quite a few sporadic restocks over the course of this holiday shopping season, but they sell out quickly. If you’re still hoping to get your hands on one of these upgraded consoles, here are some of our best tips and tricks:
The Nintendo Switch OLED sells for $349, $50 more than the standard Switch.

Xbox Series X Review: Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass has been around for a while now, offering an easy way to get access to a suite of games for a rather affordable monthly price of $9.99 or £7.99. This has long made it one of the best bargains in the gaming world.
But I’d argue that Game Pass is an essential partner for the Xbox Series X. While the aforementioned launch line up of Xbox Series X games might be a little lacking, Game Pass provides a huge range of new and old games to play on the flagship console. Furthermore, many of these come with Xbox Series X and Series S enhancements, meaning the Xbox Series X is the best place to play such games you may have missed on the Xbox One.
Fork out $14.99 or £10.99 a month and you’ll get access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which provides access to Xbox and PC games, as well as cloud streaming and save syncing between all three platforms. It’s simply a fantastic deal in fact, right now I’d go as far as to say that Xbox Game Pass is the best deal in gaming.
What’s more a whole suite of upcoming Xbox One and Series X games will be released day-one on Game Pass, meaning its one of the most affordable ways to get new games.

Ps5 Restock Tracker: Where To Buy Ps5
Beat the scalpers with the help of T3’s PS5 stock tracker
ByMatthew Fordelast updated 22 December 21
More than one year since Sony launched the PlayStation 5 and the market is still struggling to keep up with demand for the console. Whether that be scalpers at every turn, automated bots trying to swipe everything within seconds, or just the millions of other shoppers trying to get their hands on the games device it’s a minefield out there.
Fear not! We’ve scoured the web far and wide to save you the hassle. While the surge in sales for the PS5 is expected to continue well into 2022, we’ve compiled a list of the top retailers to find the elusive console from as well as some handy tips to be aware of to help get you to the checkout and more importantly, receive that sweet, sweet confirmation message. The great news is that it’s set to become much easier to secure a console, with Sony set to bring in “phenomenal” amounts of PS5 stock just in time for Christmas. Huzzah!
T3’s PS5 stock tracker is regularly updated but there’s also a few extra steps worth considering. We’d recommend bookmarking a number of stock trackers across social media , checking in at any local retailers in case some have stock unexpectedly without warning, alongside making an account across said retailers online accounts to save time on checkout. It can help to keep the console in your wishlist basket too. Now onto the important bit: where to find a PS5.
How To Buy An Xbox Series X At Best Buy
As with most retailers, setting up a Best Buy account ahead of time should be your first priority. You want to make sure that your payment details and address information is pre-saved, in order to shave precious time off your checkout that could be the difference between securing an Xbox Series X and being left empty-handed.
Its also important to note that Best Buy is not currently delivering Xbox consoles though the order process takes place online, you must opt for in-store pick-up. So, if you dont have a local Best Buy, or dont have the ability to get to your local store, then Best Buy may not be the Xbox retailer for you.
When a restock is taking place, refresh the product page until you see the yellow “add to cart” button or a grey “please wait” button. If you see the latter, do not refresh, but instead wait for the button to change to the yellow “add to cart” one.
Once youre able to add to cart, you might see a message telling you the Xbox Series X is no longer in stock. Should that happen, you need to change your location to one that has the system in stock. You could also open a new page and repeat the process outlined above until the “add to cart” button appears again, then go back to the original page you had open and try again to choose a location.

Xbox Series X Review: Backwards Compatibility
In the run-up to the release of the Xbox Series X, backwards compatibility was touted a lot by Microsoft, as well as keen Xbox gamers. Such was the hype, I had steeled myself for disappointment. But I neednt have worried as backwards compatibility on the Xbox Series X is superb.
Simply put, getting an Xbox game from any generation to run on the Xbox Series X is just a case of getting the disc and popping it into the console. If the game is backwards compatible, and many should be, then itll begin an installation process. If you have access to Xbox Game Pass, then you can simply download any game thats listed on the service that dates back as far as the original Xbox.
These games wont immediately be able to put the graphical horsepower of the Series X to use, if ever. But the fact they can be installed directly to the consoles SSD means theyll load up in seconds. And any games that used to run badly on older hardware, should at least be a little smoothed out.
There are limits in that a game locked at 30 frames per second wont suddenly run at 60 fps or more unless it gets optimized. I found that to be the case with Red Dead Redemption, which runs at 4K/30 fps on the Series X, much like it did on the One X. Throwing Assassin’s Creed 2 in the Series X results in a game that loads a lot faster and feels smoother than it ever did on the Xbox 360.
User Interface On The Xbox Series X
If you’ve used an Xbox One in the last few weeks, the Xbox Series X user interface will look plenty familiar to you. It uses the same design as the October 2020 Xbox One Update, which maintains continuity across the platform.
The home screen has a list of games and apps that you’ve most recently used, so it’s easy to get back into the games you play or the software you use most often. A sidebar leads you to highlights from Xbox Game Pass, the Microsoft Store, entertainment apps, Xbox events and suggested apps.
You can customize the order parts of the home screen appear in, and you can also make changes to whether you want a dark or light mode, theme by color and even custom photos.
Pressing the Xbox button, or “Guide” button, on the controller brings in the Guide side panel over whatever else you’re doing, which can easily get you home, to your game library, show what your friends are up to, switch apps, join parties and chats, and see your achievements.
The Xbox Store looks very similar to the other changes in the home screen. It’s snappy, has big images and a sidebar that gets you to different areas of the store quickly.
None of this is a big change. But it’s tried, true, tested and fast. Fans of Xbox will feel right at home. And for those who are making the move from the PC, it’s somewhat reminiscent of the Windows 10 Start Menu.

Xbox Series X: Design
Youd be forgiven for saying that the Xbox Series X looks like a small-form-factor PC, because it does at least when its standing upright. Its monolithic design could be seen as uninspired. But I rather like the system’s clean and unfussy appearance. Its big, however.
Measuring 15.1 x 15.1 x 30.1 centimeters and weighing 9.8 pounds, the Series X is a rather bulky machine, though not as large as the PS5. This means youll struggle to fit it into an entertainment unit, unless you place the device on its side. Theres a quartet of soft pads on one side of the console to show you which way it should be positioned when lying sideways. These also prevent the console from slipping around.
I think the Xbox Series X looks a little clunky and clumsy on its side, a bit like the lovechild of an audio amplifier and a brick. I keep mine upright and sitting partially behind my TV, and it looks rather nice in that space, particularly as you can peer into the top vent of the console, which has some green accents around the holes towards the middle.
In fact, while it might look a little clunky peeking out from behind my TV, I think the Series X looks rather good sitting on a desktop. If you plan to plug the system into a 4K or high-refresh-rate monitor, you could be pleasantly surprised.
Xbox Series X Review: Price And Availability
Released worldwide on November 10, 2020, the Xbox Series X is nearing its first birthday, at the time of writing. And it’s still stupidly hard to buy.
We’ve been tracking Xbox Series X restocks for month upon months, and still most retailers are out of stock. When they do get new stock in, it sells out in moments. Sadly, with semiconductor shortages ongoing, it doesn’t look like the Xbox Series X restock situation will get any better before 2023.
If you do find an Xbox Series X in stock, then expect prices to start at $499 in the U.S. and £449 in the U.K. On paper at least, the Xbox Series X matches the price of the PS5 in those respective nations. However, its more expensive than the PS5 Digital Edition, which costs $399, or £349. But these consoles are often found in bundles that come with a higher ticket price. Speaking of that, if you have $10,000 to burn you could check out the Gucci Xbox Series X.

Aggiornamento ore 12:11: console terminate!

The Beatles: Get Back
Honestly, I didnt think there was much else to say about The Beatles. It seemed like wed heard and seen it all. Peter Jackson proved me wrong with his three-part, nearly eight-hour documentary miniseries that gives a new perspective to the 1969 making of Let It Be. It reframes the story of the Beatles break-up and puts a different spin on the footage shot by Michael Lindsay-Hogg for his doc. While John, Paul, George and Ringo occasionally clash, it doesnt feel cataclysmic its just what happens among longtime friends and colleagues. The absolute best part of the doc is the insight into the bands creative process. Im still blown away by the bit where Paul was noodling around on his guitar with a couple chords, which transformed into the core of the song Get Back. – Kelly Woo

Guardians Of The Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy faced an uphill battle before launch. This is due to the poor reception received last year. Everyone expected another “Games as a Service” slog. Thankfully, Guardians of the Galaxy turned out to be everything Avengers wasnt: a fun, narrative-focused single-player experience that evoked the spirit of the franchise that inspired it. Its a shame that some players are still apprehensive about this title, because it really is an exhilarating experience.
As I said in our Guardians of the Galaxy review, this title is a Marvel Cinematic Universe film in video game form. It has all of the humor, action and memorable music that made the franchise a hit. You could argue its just as good, or better than its source material, due to it being interactive. Guardians of the Galaxys stylized graphics, exceptional voice acting and rocking soundtrack make it among the most enjoyable titles of 2021. Tony Polanco
