Major Xbox Games In Development With No Release Year Or A Post
“Coming soon” can mean anything from a few months to a couple of years. Beyond Good and Evil 2, Diablo 4, Dragon Age 4, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 are all in development, but players will have to wait patiently to learn when these games will be made available to play. Projects like the new Bungie IP are still a long way off from becoming a reality however, at least the studios have confirmed they are working on them.
- A Gummy’s Life
The Lord Of The Rings
- Publisher: Daedelic Entertainment
- Release date: 2022
- Exclusive? No, also on PS5, Windows 10
There is no full trailer for Gollum as yet but we do know that the game with be a story-driven action-adventure and from a studio well-versed in such things. We also know it’s coming to next-gen consoles, and its artistic vision looks pretty interesting so far.
Warhammer 4000: Space Marine 2
- Publisher: Focus Entertainment
- Release date: TBC
- Exclusive? No, also on PC
The first Space Marine came out a decent while ago, but was a well-like third-person action and shooter that felt like a nice way into the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Now, it’s finally getting a sequel, and from the glimpses of gameplay at the end of the announcement trailer it should be a bloody good time.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a rather astonishing blend of classic Metal Gear stealth with a brace of open-world settings and many open-ended missions. As Snake you can take on missions in practically any way you want, from going in guns blazing to sneaking around unseen or simply improvising on the fly. Some five years after its release, the game still looks great and plays well. From the main missions to building up your HQ on an offshore oil rig.
But it’s the systems and flexibility of the game that makes it a joy. Headshot a lot of guards and they’ll start wearing stronger helmets, sneak into a base when it’s raining and your footsteps will be muffled or use a sandstorm to run past guards without them noticing. Or knock out a lethal sniper by air-dropping a supply crate on their head. There’s a lot of scope for experimentation as well as simple gaming larks. The Phantom Pain is truly a great stealth game.
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
What is it? A vampire RPG – need we say more?
What to look out for: Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 throws you into the seedy underbelly of Seattle where creatures roam, but thankfully you’re a vampire. Turned as an act of vampire terrorism during the ‘Mass Embrace’, you’ll soon get caught up in vampire faction politics, where you’re still just trying to deal with your new way of life. This is an RPG at its core too, filled with player choices, a strong narrative, and branching dialogue options too.

Senuas Saga: Hellblade 2
What is it? A surprise sequel to Hellblade coming to Xbox Series X.
What to look out for: Okay, so technically this is really for our list of upcoming Xbox Series X games, but we have a sneaking suspicion it may well also launch across the Xbox One family too. The sequel, called Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, is a bit of a mystery right now. All we’ve had for it is a slightly unnerving teaser trailer, which involves face paint/blood, scary singing and chanting, and more disembodied arms with fingers trying to grab at you. Nightmarish. It all suggests another harrowing journey for our troubled hero.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Ready for a real challenge? Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the latest brutal action-RPG from Dark Souls developer From Software, forcing you to carefully hack your way through a mythological version of 16th-century Japan full of monstrous enemies looking to kill you. Sekiro stands out from the Dark Souls formula with its sense of mobility, as you can grapple-hook from ledge to ledge and switch between stances to catch your enemy off-guard.
Sekiro is already being hailed as one of the best From Software games yet, as there’s no real way to grind for better stats — only your skill will get you through. Still, there are ways to mitigate the games challenge, through careful observation of your environment and smart management of your limited skill set. Sekiro isnt impossible it only seems that way at first glance.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2
Cor, Tony Hawk has always felt like a bit of a tech-pusher to me. Back then I couldn’t believe a game could feel this human, have this much gravity kicking around inside it. With the remakes/remodels/remasters, it’s that same joy in animation and texture, environment and surface detailing and the sheer simple pleasures of what you’re up to.
Play this because it’s one of the best games about moving ever made – an absolute delight in the matter of getting from A to B and what you choose to do in between. Its progression system encourages curiosity and experimentation and its tricks are absolutely stellar. What an absolute treat: in 2021, the sheer design of the thing still feels like it has stuff to teach us.

D: Dark Dreams Don’t Die
D4, the oddball point-and-click adventure game from the ever-bizarre and lovable Swery, is another reason to own an Xbox One. Drawing from Philip K. Dick’s trippy metaphysics, David Lynch’s surrealism, and LucasArts’ classic adventure mechanics, D4 is a far cry from the usual AAA offerings.
It tells the story of a widower, detective David Young, who is obsessed with unearthing the events that led to the death of his wife Little Peggy. The story involves time travel, a giant, and a woman dressed as a cat who may or may not be real. It’s a good old time.
Dark Dreams Don’t Die is the first part of a multi-arc story a story that may not see a conclusion due to Swery leaving the developer, Access Games.
Devil May Cry is a genre-defining action series that pits your demon-slaying protagonist against the hordes of hell, giving you a sword, guns, and a robust list of special attacks to string together in crazy and over-the-top combos. Devil May Cry 5 continues the series’ wild action legacy.
It takes elements from previous games, even including the fan-derided DmC: Devil May Cry reboot, and introduces all-new characters and gameplay systems for series fans and newcomers to enjoy. All systems have been rebalanced and streamlined, making them easy to grasp yet challenging to apply in practice and to master.

Xbox Game Pass: New Games For December 2021 Revealed
Among Us and The Gunk are coming to Xbox Game Pass in December.
Xbox Game Pass is Microsofts subscription service for Xbox One owners. Its designed to be like a Netflix for games, where you pay a simple monthly rate and get access to loads of games for download. Its not to be confused with the Xbox Live Gold membership, which gives users a selection of free games each month.
There has been a huge surge in popularity and profile for Xbox Game Pass since its launch, mainly due to the diverse list of games and first-party exlusives on the service. In fact, Microsoft drops new releases from its own internal studios onto the service on day one! Sea of Thieves was the first example of this, followed by State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3. Since then, the service has seen the day one launch of several other high-profile Xbox exclusives, including Gears 5, The Outer Worlds, and Halo: Reach on the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Membership to Xbox Game Pass will set you back $9.99 per month. You can now also get an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for $1 for the first month and $14.99 every month after that. The subscription includes an Xbox Live Gold membership as well as all of the games offered on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC. Plus, with cloud support, you can play a selection of Xbox Game Pass titles on your Android phone. And now you even get access to titles on EA Play, the third-party publishers own on-demand service.

Halo: Master Chief Collection
Here we go again! An Xbox, you say? Have you heard of Halo? You have? Well, still. The Master Chief Collection is all the good Halo games plus Halo 4. Some of them have fancy campaign remasters where you can toggle between old and new versions with the press of a button, which is a fascinating but also very ageing experience. All of them are essential. This is history, right here: it’s the throughline from the first Xbox to the Series X, the Duke to the wonderful current-day controller that’s too perfect to have a nickname. It’s Microsoft’s entire marketing strategy in a box: the good old days, at 4 whole Ks, in 120 slippery smooth frames – if your TV can even handle it.
But it’s also more than that. Halo is no joke. It’s total mastery of craft, an oddly gravitational shooter about momentum, physics, weight, kinetic energy stored in a suit and discharged through a clonk to the back of the head. It’s unafraid of making your core weapon feel terrible, if it means you’re more likely to try something else new. Unafraid of feeling slow, if it means it’s more deliberate. It’s the original multiplayer playground. It does not get better.
Here’s what’s new in Season 6 of the Master Chief Collection’s online events

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition
Modern RPG classic
Reasons to avoid
Building on the foundations set by old-school RPG classics like Baldur’s Gate, Divinity: Original Sin 2 has you on a literal quest for godhood, in a world where those with magical powers are marginalized.
So far, so good for an RPG title. But Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes into its own with just how flexible and freeing its systems are. With turn-based combat that takes as much inspiration from XCOM as it does from tabletop RPG spellcasting, you’ll always be given multiple ways to progress, letting you combine items and environmental modifiers to take on foes in increasingly creative ways.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 has more ideas in its first ten minutes than some games have in their entire duration: want to be an undead adventurer who can talk to skulls? Go for it. An animal-whisperer like Dr Doolittle? 100%go for it. Throw four-player online co-op into the mix, where anyone can do whatever they want, whenever they want, and you’ve got a recipe for chaotic perfection.
It’s one of the few games where, if you can dream it up, you can probably do it in the game. A must-play Xbox One game.
