Confirmed upcoming Xbox Game Pass games due 2022 beyond this month:

Xbox Game Pass New Games: Full List And Schedule

It can be easy to lose track of all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass, so we’ve compiled the full list for your convenience. In this section of our Xbox Game Pass guide, learn what games have been released on Xbox Game Pass recently, when they became available, and what platforms on which they’re available.

Game Pass Goes ‘ultimate’

Two years after Microsoft introduced Xbox Game Pass, it launched an equivalent subscription for PC players, bringing the service to a whole new audience. Around that same time, Microsoft introduced Game Pass Ultimate, a $15/month premium tier that combines Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Live Gold.

Ultimate has since cemented itself as the best-available Game Pass deal and what many argue to be the best available deal in gaming, period. In addition to Game Pass access on console, PC, and through the cloud, Ultimate includes an array of miscellaneous perks and, as of 2020, access to the full EA Play catalog, which includes Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, It Takes Two, and all of EAs recent sports games.

With the addition of EA Play, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers eventually gain access to every Microsoft and EA game , offering a value proposition that would have been hard to fathom just four years ago.

Developer Young Horses Is Also Bringing The Game To Nintendo Switch And Steam

Indie cult darling Bugsnax is making the leap from being a PlayStation exclusive to multiple platforms, including Xbox Game Pass.

On April 28th, the bizarre adventure game is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Steam and Nintendo Switch.

The Isle of BIGsnax update launches April 28th FREE for all Bugsnax players!

And that’s not allthe newly updated Bugsnax is coming to Xbox One + Series X|S + PC Game Pass, Nintendo Switch eShop, and Steam the same day!

Bugsnax first launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC and macOS in the fall of 2020. The game quickly built a fanbase not only for its catchy soundtrack but also surrounding its world of kinda-bug and kinda-snack creatures.

Players take on the role of a journalist arriving on Snaktooth Island, looking for lost explorer Elizabert. Along the way, youll discover the strange Bugsnax and a group of settlers on the island. In many ways, the game functions similarly to Pokemon Snap, where players interact and research the Bugsnax in different ways. It blends humour and mystery throughout a bite-sized 10-hour narrative.

Although it was a PlayStation console exclusive, Bugsnax is finally being ported to Xbox and Switch. More than a year later, the game is accessible to a brand new audience. As confirmed by the Xbox Wire, the game will be playable via Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night

Microsoft buying Steam would be a disaster for PC gaming ...

Ugh, I love Metroidvanias. I especially love them when theyre themed after Castlevania. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the long-awaited game from Koji Igarashi, former Castlevania series director. Originally started as a Kickstarter project, the game was quickly funded and fans waited in excited anticipation.

And Ive got to say, Bloodstained lived up to all the hype. Although youre not playing as a member of the famed Belmont clan or even Draculas dhampir son, the story is no less compelling. Playing as Miriam, one of the last living Shardbinders, you enter a massive demonic castle to save the world from impending doom. As you traverse the castle, youll fight all manner of abominations, but dont worry, youll get plenty of weapons and supernatural abilities to beat back the denizens of darkness. And similar to other Castlevania games, theres more going on than meets the eye.

If you have one, I highly recommend playing this game on a 4K HDR TV or display. Its just that pretty.

Best Games On Xbox Game Pass In 2022

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service from Microsoft that offers hundreds of video games. Xbox Game Pass provides several plans, including a $9.99 basic plan for PC and consoles and a $14.99 ultimate plan that includes cloud gaming and the Gold subscription that offers exclusive deals and online multiplayer.

Like many subscription-based services, Xbox Game Pass keeps evolving. Microsoft has been adding a lot of great titles to its library since it was inaugurated in 2017, making it a very attractive investment for gamers.

However, with over 100 high-quality games, choosing which game to play and deciding whether Game Pass is worth it can be challenging. So, in this article, we’ll talk about some of the best games on Xbox Game Pass in 2022 to help you find titles you’ll love.

Remnant: From The Ashes

Remnant: From the Ashes is Dark Souls by way of Gears of War. Instead of animation-locked melee combat like in FromSoftwares titles, Remnant From the Ashes is a third-person shooter with a unique roster of bizarre guns. But despite the games much longer combat range, it manages to replicate the tension of the hyper-difficult games its developers were clearly inspired by. Its punishing, and you only have so many swigs of your health potion before you go down for good.

Remnant From the Ashes is for more than just masochists, though. As a game you can optionally play in co-op, it offers a major difficulty step up from playing Gears of War on the couch with your buddies. Each player is able to customize their loadout to help the group succeed. And when youre working together with your partner, it delivers one of the best campaign multiplayer experiences in recent memory.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

The Xbox brand might never have taken off without the Halo series, the first-person shooters that helped to popularize local competitive multiplayer on consoles before taking the party online after the launch of Xbox Live. The Master Chief Collection package includes multiple Halo games, all of which have been updated to keep them enjoyable for modern audiences.

But whats so striking about the collection is how many ways there are to play. You can go through the campaigns by yourself. If you want to play with a friend but dont want to compete, there is co-op, allowing you to share the games stories with a partner, either online or through split-screen play. If you do want to compete, you can do it locally against up to three other players on the same TV, or take things online to challenge the wider community.

These are some of the best first-person shooters ever released, and theyre worth revisiting and enjoying, no matter how you decide to play them. Sharing these games with my children through local co-op has been an amazing journey, and this package includes so many games, each of which is filled with different modes and options. Its hard to imagine ever getting bored or uninstalling the collection once its on your hard drive.

This is a part of gaming history that continues to feel relevant, and very much alive. Ben Kuchera

What You Need To Know About Xbox Game Pass

10 Best Couch Co-Op Games on Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass comes in three variations. The first is the vanilla $9.99 or £7.99 a month Xbox Game Pass subscription, which is for Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S, and give you access to the whole library of Game Pass Games.

Xbox Game Pass for PC costs $9.99 or £7.99 a month and give you access to over 100 PC games. One thing to note is the Xbox app on PC isn’t the best and can run into a few problems, but Microsoft is working on improving it.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the best bargain, as at $14.99 or £10.99 a month it gives you access to Xbox and PC games, as well as cloud streaming and save syncing between all three platforms.

All three plans will get you access to Xbox Game Studio titled form day one of release as well as additional member discounts and deals. The PC and Ultimate subscribers also have access to EA Play games, and Ultimate grants subscribers free perks including in-game content and partner offers.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite Dec 14

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a co-operative, third-person shooter developed by Cold Iron Studios and published by Focus Home Interactive. Set 23 years after the original Alien trilogy, you play as a Colonial Marine tasked with exterminating Xenomorphs infesting the UAS Endeavor. Customize your looks, class, perks, and weapons to build the ultimate Marine and go on a bug hunt with your friends in 3-player co-op.

Nier: Automata: Become As Gods Edition

Nier: Automata is the weirdest game on this list, but thats what makes it a must-play. It masquerades as an anime action game in a post-apocalyptic world. And while it very much is an anime action game in a post-apocalyptic world, its got a ton of interesting mechanics and storytelling techniques boiling beneath its surface.

Automata is an existential meditation on consciousness and purpose. Its got charm and darkness. There are goofy, singing robots and brutal destruction. And it all unfolds over multiple playthroughs of a similar campaign. Each replay offers new details and missions to uncover, and it all plays into a larger mystery.

Its game director Yoko Taros magnum opus, and its not to be missed.

Pillars Of Eternity: Complete Edition

  • Approximate Game Length: 45 Hours
  • Genre: RPG
  • X|S Enhanced: No
  • File Size: 14 GB

When you hear Obsidians doing a classically styled CRPG, it behooves any RPG enthusiast to sit up and pay attention. As mentioned, Pillars of Eternity was made in the tradition of true genre classics, like Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale, but takes place in an entirely unique setting as opposed to D& Ds Forgotten Realms. Pillars of Eternitys richly detailed fantasy realm of Eora has a lore and mystique all its own. Players take the role of a Watcher a spiritual medium of sorts that can interact with souls as they investigate the mystery behind the Hollowborn Plague, an affliction that causes newborn children to be born without souls, rendering them stillborn for most intents and purposes. Obsidians penchant for imaginative writing and vibrant character work shines through the host of recruitable companions players will encounter while building their party, and the RPG mechanics themselves are deeply gratifying for theorycrafters and CRPG nuts.

A Brief History Of Microsoft’s Industry

Four years ago, between the announcement of Xbox Game Pass and its launch, Microsofts vision for the Netflix of games had yet to come into focus. Phil Spencer and team Xbox were clear in its direction, though public perception surrounding the game subscription service was muddier: What did Game Pass mean for consumers? Was it sustainable for developers? How would it affect the future of game ownership?

Now, coming up on the services fourth anniversary, public perception has cleared, and the verdict is near-universal: Xbox Game Pass has been heralded as a cost-effective, accessible alternative to traditional game purchasing for many players.

As Sony takes a bigger step into offering its own subscriptions with its all-new PlayStation Plus and Nintendo has tried its own hand at a similar service with some of the benefits of Nintendo Switch Online, were taking a look back at how Xbox Game Pass has evolved since its inception, from an unproven concept to the backbone of Microsofts gaming ambitions.
