Cyberpunk 2077 Ps5 And Xbox Series X
As expected, CD Projekt Red today announced the release date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of Cyberpunk 2077 during its live stream on Twitch. This announcement is one that has been a long time coming for many fans who first bought the game all the way back in late 2020 when Cyberpunk 2077 launched. And although the road to this point has been a bit bumpy, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the PS5 and Xbox Series X update for the game is available to download right this moment.
Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.5 has today become available on consoles, PC, and Google Stadia and brings with it a vast number of changes to CD Projekt Red’s RPG. To go along with a plethora of bug fixes and some new free DLC, this patch also contains the next-gen upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077, which finally takes advantage of the improved hardware capabilities of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Essentially, if you own one of these platforms, Cyberpunk 2077 will now be a vastly improved experience compared to the PS4 and Xbox One iterations.
Patch 1.5 is coming soon to PC, Stadia, and consoles! It brings various improvements to the game, numerous quest and gameplay fixes, as well as a number of free DLCs. On top of that, it contains the next-gen update PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X!
Rebalancing The Loot And Rpg Aspects
One of my biggest complaints and criticisms about Cyberpunk 2077 was the itemization and RPG mechanics. In my humble opinion, CD Projekt RED isn’t particularly great at this in general, with itemization and character progression in The Witcher 3 falling a bit on the messy side. Cyberpunk 2077 turned that strangeness up a notch, though, with itemization that not only made characters look horrible, but also came with gameplay-trivializing overpoweredness in certain gear combos.
I played Cyberpunk 2077 entirely as a Netrunner in my review, which I’m certain enhanced my experience of the game overall. I didn’t engage much with the game’s weaponry or gear, instead opting to hide in a corner and murder enemies via CCTV cameras and hacks. This gameplay style felt great and still does, but in subsequent attempts to play, I found Cyberpunk’s gunplay and melee combat wholly lacking. CD Projekt RED has attempted to address some of these inconsistencies by adding new weapons and rebalancing some of the game’s high-end mods and equipment aspects. You can’t just stack mountains of crit-enhancing mods anymore, with new restrictions forcing you to be a little more considerate about how you approach character building.
Speaking of visuals, let’s dive into some performance and graphics criticisms, shall we?
Analysis: A Lot To Prove
A lot is riding on these next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077. Since the games initial launch back in 2020, game-breaking bugs and persistent performance issues have dissuaded many from picking up the game on console, and soured not only its perception among fans, but also much of the goodwill and reputation CD Projekt Red had established through developing The Witcher series.
For many, the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Cyberpunk 2077 offer the opportunity to experience the ambitious game as it was meant to be played. Free from bugs, and leveraging the latest hardware to iron out all the remaining performance gaps and glitches, the next generation of consoles might finally allow some players to see the game in all of its glory.
The fact a free trial is available on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 suggests CD Projekt Red is taking steps to improve the games image in the eyes of potential fans. With many having written off the title entirely, a free demo might go some way to show that its no longer the broken RPG it was at launch, convincing them to give Cyberpunk a second chance.
Of course, if the next-gen versions don’t meet player expectations, Cyberpunk 2077’s reputation is all but sealed. Few games are given a second chance to win back favor with their audiences. Let’s hope CD Projekt Red has used the opportunity wisely.

The Xbox Series S only has Performance mode, which targets 1440p at 30FPS. However, CDPR is currently looking into the prospect of raising the framerate cap on the Xbox Series S.

IMPORTANT PRODUCTION UPDATE pic.twitter.com/KOnaIVOt4v
“For those who are playing the game on next-gen consoles via backwards compatibility, we are planning the free, next-gen update for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series consoles, and PlayStation 5, this year. We’re aiming for the second half of the year and well reveal more when we have more to share.”
It’s worth noting that the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen upgrade will be free if you already own the game on last-gen consoles. When originally confirming the Xbox Series X Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade, CD Projekt Red said ) that “gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades,” and we’ve seen nothing to indicate that’s going to change.

Good News And Bad News
Good news: On Xbox consoles, save data will automatically upload via Smart Delivery. However, on PlayStation a few steps are required. All you have to do is simply upload a PS4 save to the cloud. Then when you fire up Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5, download the save in-game. Easy peasy.
Bad news: As confirmed by Push Square, when transferring your save data from PS4 to PS5, previously earned trophies will not pop. This essentially means, that if you want to earn all PS5 trophies, you will have to start the game from scratch.
Good News, Maybe: In an , CDPR is now looking into the possibility of being able to transfer PlayStation trophies.

Patch 152 Makes The Game Even Smoother
Many of the bugs that riddled the futuristic world of “Cyberpunk 2077” at launch are no longer present on both the PC and PS5 versions of the game, which are much smoother and more enjoyable to play than they once were. The new patch notes show this update isn’t nearly as dramatic as what arrived with patch 1.5, though it’s certainly worth it for fans to take a deeper look at the specific changes listed on CDPR’s website.
As an aside, the team finally added the option to shower at the Nomad camp, which is probably good news for players who are romancing Panam, one of the beloved Nomad characters and potential love interests for those playing as a male V. If you’re unfamiliar, V is the protagonist of “Cyberpunk 2077,” and can either be male or female based on the player’s preference.
CD Projekt Red originally became popular for its video game adaptations of “The Witcher,” based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, and is making the news once more for its recent “The Witcher” announcement.
Is Cyberpunk 2077 Fixed On Next
It took a while for Digital Foundry to come to a conclusion. Cyberpunk 2077, a game completely transformed for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, is now available to play. The originalback-compat plus versions of the game have been improved by utilizing current-gen SDKs, allowing CD Projekt RED to fully tap into the capabilities of the new wave of consoles.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Next Gen Update has relaunched the game onto the Xbox Series X/S and PS5, following the glitch and bug-ridden release on PS4 and Xbox One.
CD Projekt Red appears to have put a lot into this soft relaunch of the game, with the 1.5 Patch having also been released at the same time as the Next Gen Update.
Before the launch, there was a ton of information released concerning the update to Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, including the future of Cyberpunk series as a whole.
There was a lot of information given by CDPR during the financial review in November 2021, with confirmation regarding the 1.5 Patch and the Next Gen update, which are believed to be separate concerns.
Heres everything you need to know about the Cyberpunk 2077 Next Gen Update:
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 152 Brings Some Big Fixes For Ps5 And Xbox Series X
Initially released in December 2020, “Cyberpunk 2077” continues to receive updates after having been relaunched in February with patch 1.5. As of March 22, the game has now been updated to patch 1.52 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, meaning developer CD Projekt Red has taken yet another step forward in cleaning up its cyberpunk-aestheticized open-world action RPG.
The new update brings a long list of changes. Focusing specifically on next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 5 received the most attention, getting fixes for corrupted save files that previously occurred when importing a save file from the PlayStation 4 client, especially when a console wasn’t connected to the PlayStation Network . Memory optimizations mean all players should now expect fewer crashes, as well. CDPR also addressed wet road reflections, which now look roughly as good on the PS5 as they do on PC.
As for Xbox owners, the performance changes aren’t as significant, but CDPR finally squashed the bug that previously caused player models to become stuck if the controller disconnected at the same moment the player entered the pause menu. In addition, overall next-generation console changes with patch 1.52 include “minor UI optimizations,” a small rework to the vehicle summoning mechanic, and plenty of quest-specific fixes to boot.

A Free Trial Is Also Available For Ps5 And Xbox Series X/s
Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a next-gen update for both PS5 and Xbox Series X today. The new update is completely free and is available right now for all platforms.
During the CD Projekt RED’s Livestream, it was revealed that the patch should be live immediately. This will still likely take a little bit of time to roll out completely, but keep an eye on your console and patch should be available soon. If you want to download the patch or the new free trial as soon as possible, read on below for a few tips on how to get started.
What Does The New Cyberpunk 2077 Update Bring
According to a CD Projekt Red live stream, Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.5 is mainly about bringing next-gen functionality to the game. The last patch fixed a whole bunch of problems, but this one is a little more ambitious. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game are available right now if you’ve got the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game, you’ll get a free upgrade, so make sure you take advantage of that. CD Projekt Red is also introducing a free 5-hour trial so you can see if you like Night City or not, and if you do, you can transfer your trial save to the full game if you decide to buy it. This will likely come as a pleasant surprise for those who were waiting for the next-gen versions of the game to launch since they were delayed last year.
There are also a whole host of changes coming to the game as part of the next-gen update. Both flagship next-gen machines will be able to play the game in Performance or Quality modes, with the former offering a 4K 60fps experience with “small and rare frame drops” and the latter bringing a 4K 30fps experience. The Xbox Series S will only be able to run the game at 1440p and 30fps, though. If you’re playing on PS5, the game takes advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback feature and speaker, and the Xbox version supports Smart Delivery.

Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox Series X
Lets not spend too long going on about the state of Cyberpunk 2077 when it first launched in December 2020, but it was pretty rough. And pretty high profile too heck, even my mum asked me if Id heard anything about it as we sat down together for that one day we could over the Christmas period. Those that tried to play it on a base Xbox One or PlayStation 4 reported a nigh-unplayable game. Those on their shiny new Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 apparently didnt fare much better.
Fast forward to 2022 and the game has just received Patch 1.5, which brings a current-gen upgrade amongst many other new features. Cyberpunk 2077 is in a much better place than when it first released, but how does it fare as an actual Xbox Series X|S title now, over a year after launch?
Im sure at this point, many players will be jumping into Night City for the first time, and I include myself in this group. Furore about the state of release aside, I had largely avoided any spoilers about the game itself. The only decision I had made beforehand was that I was going to start as a Nomad.
Other starting locations are available, but aside from a change of scenery during the initial moments and some different conversation options, there is very little difference. Dont go in expecting Dragon Age: Originsopening sections depending on which background you choose.
The Xbox Series S unfortunately only has the option to run the game at 1440p and 30fps. This may change over time.
